SCHOOL FUNDRAISER AT FAIRGROUNDS GREAT SUCCESS The recent four day carnival to benefit the Emmanuel Christian Academy of Kingman did more than entertain the community. There were great activities such as carnival rides, great food vendors, interesting commercial booths, astronomy displays, musical groups and a dog show to be sure. But the most important happening by far, was the new appreciation Mohave County has for one of the highest ranking schools in all of America. The school, located at 3120 Hualapai Mt. Road,is the only private Christian school in Kingman and, according to event volunteer Robin Christensen, ranks among the top schools in the nation for test scores. The key to success is simple. The ECA is able to choose curriculum based on strong academic principals and adheres to fundamental Christian tenents because the school is totally privately funded. Parents choose the school and support the school and have academically superior results for their children. Quite impressive. Also impressive was the great job D.J. and Renda did as first time coordinators of the ECA Carnival. Few professional promoters could have done better. Features included a petting zoo, a dessert auction, live drum lessons, fresh oranges, beautiful rugs and lawn art, great music performed by North Country and Monkey Bizness as well as a variety of faith based musical groups and devotinaL ministry speakers. A highlight of the carnival was featured dancers from the All Starz Academy of Gymnastics and Dance, located at 2634 Airway Avenue, who delighted a packed crowd of spectators with full costume ballet and modern dance numbers before a backdrop of spectacular scenery. The Mohave County Fair Association turned over the parking duties to ECA volunteers who added those funds to the effort which will be used to expand the school's kindergarten through eighth grade levels to include nineth grade by year's end. As D.J. says "Next year will be even bigger"..so keep watching this web-site for updated details about this event as well as all activities happening at the fairgrounds.
